Setting.....
Recognizing Orlando Bloom on the security monitor, Tracey is thrilled about
finally getting to meet the actor but at the same time saddened by the fact
that with the owners around she would most likely have to leave.
When the gate's intercom buzzed the first time, Tracey was startled because
even though she knew it existed she'd never actually heard it before. She
never had any visitors because Kate didn't allow it but what Kate didn't know
in Tracey's opinion, wouldn't kill her. After a week of house-sitting she gave
her friends a grand tour making them promise never to drop by unexpectedly in
the future then after they'd seen everything, everyone jumped into the pool.
So over-flowing with curiosity she ran to the small room where the monitors
were located and gasped out loud when she saw who it was.
She squinted her eyes as if that would help her see better if there was
someone else in the cab but she figured Kate had to be in there although she
wasn't looking forward to meeting her. Kate had offered her the house-sitting
job over the phone and Tracey had almost turned it down because she had sensed
something about the woman's personality that hadn't been very appealing but
the high salary had been too sweet to pass up.
The intercom went off again and Tracey jumped. She'd been so busy staring at
Orlando's image she had forgotten to buzz the gate so that it would open.
After doing so she hurried to open the door, stopping briefly in front of the
mirror in the foyer to check her appearance.
Running her fingers through her
hair, she licked her lips then pulled down and straightened her shirt.
"Whoa, too much cleavage.", she uttered doing up two buttons. She took a step
back, checked the mirror again and made a face before unfastening the top
button and then another one. "Yeah. Much better."
Tracey smiled all the way to the front door and opened it. She immediately got
butterflies in her stomach when Orlando walked towards her and even more so
when she noticed that no one else had gotten out of the cab and it was now
driving off.
"If I had known you were coming I would have picked you up at the airport.",
Tracey informed him after they shook hands and her initial greeting, both of
them simultaneously feeling a strong physical attraction.
"Thanks. Kate was suppose to call but I can only guess why she didn't.", he
frowned but then sighed happily when the cool air of the mansion's interior
surrounded him. "I guess I should just come right out and tell you why I'm
here. Could we sit down?"
"I don't see why not, it's your house.", she joked. "Would you like something
to drink?"
"Yeah. That'd be great."
"Then let's head to the kitchen, follow me.", she said turning to walk in that
direction, completely missing Orlando's lustful look as the words "'I'll
follow you anywhere" floated through his thoughts.
After Tracey got their drinks she sat next to him and listened as he talked
about his break up with Kate and what he intended to do with the house.
"You don't have to leave right away in fact I'm hoping you'll stay and help me
out since I don't know my way around here or out there.", he laughed. "I don't
know how long I'll be staying but eventually I'll need to know where the shops
are and to get in touch with a real estate agency. So can I count you Tracey?"
"Sure, I'll do what I can.", she promised thinking she had to be crazy to say
no.
They stayed in the kitchen and chatted until Tracey noticed how tired Orlando looked. So taking into account that he had done quite a bit of flying to get to Australia, plus the fact that it was now 2 am where he'd come from she strongly suggested that he go and rest.
Orlando didn't argue although he
hated having to end their conversation since they were getting along so well.
But the long flight had been grueling and all the mental and emotional stress
he'd been suffering because of Kate was finally catching up with him.
He fetched his suitcase then followed her again, this time to the master
bedroom and before she left Tracey told him not to hesitate to look for her if
he needed anything and then she explained where her room was located. He
thanked her and stood in the doorway watching her until she was out of sight.
"And now, a nice cold shower....brrrr.", he uttered slowly closing the door
and looking around for the bathroom.
